With summer upon us, I have been taking my son to the pool at our apartment complex. Entering the pool area recently, I encountered a woman there, a mother about my age, with a few kids. As I walked by, I over heard her cell phone conversation. She was yelling at someone, and I could only assume it was her boyfriend. I’m not aggressive by nature. I was pretty shy in my younger days. But as I’ve gotten older, I find myself becoming more outgoing, and in turn, more aggressive in dating.
Apparently, when you have a first date…and would like to have a second date within a reasonable amount of time, it’s considered aggressive. Asking a guy out? Aggressive. Telling a guy exactly what you like, and how you like it, aggressive. Why does wanting to find a mate turn normally mild mannered women into aggressive creatures?

In April, my daughter turned nine. Let me rephrase that – on April 6th, the day nine years ago that I labored for forty-seven hours to bring new life into the world, my baby, my sweet dancing laughing precocious little girl TURNED INTO A PRE-TEEN.
