30 Days of Giveaways: Day 26 – The Karaoke Channel Online Review & Giveaway!

So, for about the past month and a half I have been addicted to a Karaoke website I recently discovered called The Karaoke Channel Online. Before then, I was constantly perusing the internet for the perfect karaoke site for me. I think I have found it, more or less. 

The potential this karaoke site has is endless. I love the fact that they add new songs on a weekly basis (every Tuesday), because sadly I have taken a shot at EVERY song I love on there already. What I don’t like is finding one of my favorite artists on the site and seeing only one song available for them or not seeing the song I love most by them. I mean seriously, how can you have Rihanna without “Um-brell-a-el-a-el-a-a-a-a”. :)  I am fine with this for now because I know The Karaoke Channel Online is listening to their fan base and adding the songs we want! 

I also love the community on this site. Everyone is very supportive. I haven’t experienced any negative comments yet and lord knows I deserve ‘em! I get lost for hours just listening to all of the recordings from other members. It is amazing. 

I was sent the The Karaoke Channel Online’s Karaoke Kit complete with two microphones and a box which allows you to adjust your microphone’s volume and echo. I have to say that this is a much better system than singing through your average PC microphone, which is what I had been doing for years. I am much happier with the way my recording come out with this kit. 

One of you will have the chance to win your very own kit, but not before I make an assclown out of myself. At the following link is the “video” of my  rendition of “Mother Mother” by Tracy Bonham, a favorite of Ms. Modern’s and myself. I tried to sing Michael Jackson tunes last night in memory of him, but I couldn’t get past all of the “OW”s and “HEEHEE”s. I hope you enjoy.

    I haven’t heard this song in so long! I’d forgotten how much I like it. You did a great job – I don’t think I could ever muster the courage to have people honestly rate my singing. Even I don’t think I sing well…

    Oh my gosh I would love to win this!!

    Your singing wasn’t too bad. I don’t know this song, so I have no real basis for opinion. But you can carry a tune and it sounded like you were singing with some soul. :)

    Really nice job, considering that you didn’t have the advantage of a lot of reverb and amplification you’d normally have at a karaoke bar – never heard the song before, but I thought it sounded terrific. My only advice would be the hold the notes out a bit longer at the end of phrases – you seemed to lack a little confidence in sustaining the phrase, as my music teacher used to tell me. You’re a lot braver than I am though in posting your singing for all to hear!
