Misikko Pink 1″ CHI Flat Iron Review & Giveaway!

Ms. Moneypenny & I were triply lucky when we learned we’d both have a chance to review a fabulous flat iron from Misikko as well as give one away here on Ms. Modern, Mama Makes Money and SBAB! The 3rd time is a charm, ladies!

I can’t count the number of times I’ve drooled over the products on Misikko’s site. They have an assortment of flat irons in many neat designs such as the Skull & Bones pattern! Think amateur flat irons are for sissies a professional flat iron from Misikko’s many brands. You can even buy a Farouk Chi Flat Iron, the best-selling hair straightener known to mankind (and the item we’re giving away here at Ms. Mod). And for those of you who only want THE BEST, Misikko categorizes them for you right here!

I had the chance to review the Hana Professional 1″ flat iron – Pink Edition – ($150 value). The iron itself has advanced Tourmaline ceramic plates for accelerated ion generation and maximum frizz-free, conditioning shine. For someone with naturally curly/frizzy hair, I was super excited about this major feature. Controlling my frizzies is always a consideration when choosing a flat iron for someone like me. The ceramic is even naturally hygienic and won’t fade color. The Pro Pink 1″ is suggested for use with all medium-long or thick tresses.

My Review:

The ergonomic design of the flat iron fit comfortably in my hand while the 8-foot swivel cord allowed me freedom of movement. My old flat iron couldn’t say the same in either category.

I absolutely love the fact that the Hana Pro doesn’t easily clump with burnt pieces of discarded hair like my old store-bought straightener. That seriously grosses me out. The Hana has remained “clean” after several uses.

As you saw in the video above, I turned the heat all the way up to 450 degrees. My hair was mostly straight afterward, but still seemed to have a few frizzies. I blame this less on the heat and more on the size of the iron. Although it states that the 1″ is good for all medium to thick hair, I believe a wider ceramic plate would be better for wirey red hair like mine. Red hair has kind of a texture all of its own, and it’s the only texture I’ve ever had, so I can’t easily compare how this flat iron might work on “normal” curly hair. However, I am certainly NOT going to kick a gift-horse in the mouth. Misikko sent me a sample product not knowing about my own unique hair problems. It’s more my fault in not accurately describing my mop than theirs.

I, Ms. Moneypenny, had the opportunity to try both the 1″ Hana Elite Flat Iron as well as the the Hana Blue Mini Flat Iron (Thanks to Misikko and It’s a Glam Thing!). You may see how the two compared on my Youtube video, which can be found on my blog, along with my full review of each iron.

In short, I am very impressed with the Hana brand in general as well as Misikko’s speed customer service. Both of my flat irons have been used many times within the past few weeks, with not much difference seen between the two.

My hair is only moderately wavy, so a high setting isn’t needed to straighten my hair as opposed to Ms. Modern’s. The settings are more than enough for my hair type. The Hana flat irons easily straightened and allowed me to flips my ends of my hair out or under. It is obvious why these irons are in Misikko’s top picks.

If there were anything to improve upon with the Hana irons, I would for these models to have a cushioned handled. I have had handles like this on flat irons in the past and I feel that it helps in shielding your hand from the high temperatures the iron reaches.
