Halloween Giveaway 10/6: Boysenberry Lane – Fingerless Monster Gloves!

I had the opportunity to speak with Tammy, the owner of Boysenberry Lane. Here’s what she had to say:

I’ve been sewing since I was a teenager and got my start in professional sewing 6 years ago when I began working for a pet company sewing collars, leashes and cat toys. I also started doing some alterations and custom sewing from my home.

I began sewing fingerless gloves about 2 years ago and my girls loved them so much that we started giving them to their friends as gifts. I love the plain, warm kind and the fancy patterned ones but was also looking to create something totally unique. I imagined gloves with teeth coming off the ends, like they were eating your hand or going to eat someone else. That’s when my Monster Gloves were born. People like the practical side of my plain gloves and there is also a following for the novelty of my crazy Monster gloves.

I love sewing with all kinds of fabrics and textures but I’d have to say that sewing with fleece and felt is my favorite right now. I love that they’re made with recycled materials (pop bottles and such).

I enjoy doing custom items. It’s neat to see what others dream up and fun to see their vision come to life.
