I had the chance to learn more about Hobo Camp Crafts. Here’s what Melissa, the owner, had to say about her shop:

How did you get started? I’ve always been crafty. My now husband and I started Hobocamp Handmade in 2004. We first started with craft shows, then found out about Etsy and then started consigning in different shops. It is a lot of work and when you work from home it never really leaves you, which can be a blessing or curse at times!

What’s your inspiration? Every day life. Movies.TV. Books. A need for something in my daily life, so I try and make it.

What’s your favorite medium? fabric and paint

Do you do custom items? Yes, we’ve had great luck with our custom items. I enjoy creating with a specific person or request in mind. It can be a great way to keep your creativity fresh.

Hobo Camp Crafts houses a variety of items for sale. My hands-down fave items are the Button Reusable Totes! Melissa told me that her husband hand-sews every single button into these fabulous patterns! I can’t even imagine doing that! My faves are the Jolly Roger & the Wonder Woman!
