30 Days of Giveaways: Day 8 – Gleaming Jewelry Giveaway & Review!

Beckie Harmon is the amazing artist behind Gleaming! She has recently begun theprocess of investing in old and forgotten treasures and rearranging them to make something new! The result – fabulous upcycled jewelry!

raTalented Beckie is a self-described artist, a photographer, a teacher, an assistant, a hardworker, a friend (a good friend), a dog owner, and a lover. So far, her handmade jewelry collection includes pendants ($15) and earrings ($8) with much more to come as her business grows!

An example of her creative jewelry is her “Sight” necklace. sight1It hangs standard on chest about 17″ to 19″ with a bronze chain. The pendant is made from paper book pages and gold string attached to a button. The pendant is attached to the bronze chain with a gold double braced string. It’s elegant, one of a kind, and a definite green product that you can wear proudly around your neck! The cost? Only $15.00! What a steal!

I had the luxery of reviewing the very necklace that one of you will win! It’s the “Spinster” necklace by Gleaming! This handmade necklace and pendant hangs standard on chest about 16″ to 18″. It’s on a golden-colored chain. The delicate pendant is made from paper book pages and handmade paper. It’s carefully affixed to a large standard button. Can we say green?

The chain is very sturdy and I would feel comfortable wearing it anywhere without worrying the pendant would fall off. That’s one of my usual pet peeves about pendants, but Gleaming goes above & beyond to make sure the pendant is securely fastened!

The recycled paper is displayed as tiny little leaves in red and black with flecks of gold for added sparkle. The leaves create a solid foundation for the word “Spinster.” I, myself, happen to be “taking back” the word spinster and making it mean, “Strong, independent woman,” so I would be proud to wear this beauty around my neck!
