30 Days of Giveaways: Day 7 – Nerdy Shirts Review & Giveaway!
Attention all Geeks! Yes, you! Ms. Modern had the opportunity to review a shirt from Nerdy Shirts, and let me tell you, this nerd had a hard time choosing which on to review!
Nerdy Shirts (NS) opened their virtual doors in February of 2009 and have never looked back! PC Magazine recently wrote up a Top 10 list for Nerd-wear and Nerdy Shirts scored the #5 slot! Go NS!
Given the semi-recent release of another Star Trek movie, fans of the series will be happy to know that NS has created a “Beam Me Up Scotty” shirt for you to own for only $19.95! It’s in that fab “Scotty Red” color featuring a v-neck cut that says, “I’m an officer and I know how to use my phaser,” or maybe “I’m givin’ her all she’s got, Cap’n.” Ahem.
Despite my apparent (and embarrassing) knowledge of Star Trek, I decided to review one of their video game tees. Yes, I was in middle school with the first Nintendo came out and yes, I still play it when my brother & I get together. We’ve even been known to dust off the old Atari, but I won’t get into how old I was when that came out.
So, if you’ve ever played a Nintendo, you know the routine when a game isn’t working:
- Open slot.
- Take out game.
- Blow wildly into the end of the game.
- Put game back in.
- Close slot.
- Play.
So, of course I chose that shirt, entitled “The Quick Fix” to review! It’s made 
of sturdy cotton from American Apparel - not that flimsy see-through stuff you get with other shirt companies. They have a handy dandy size chart for you as well so you can make sure you get the correct fit. Although I am regularly a size medium, I usually choose to get a size large in tees just in case they shrink after washing. The one I reviewed was a female fitted tee, so if you like looser tees, you might want to get the male version which would fit more like your average everyday shirt.
Nerdy Shirts not only sells quality shirts, they have other geek-fare as well! They currently have 3 hoodies for sale as well as belt buckles! Who doesn’t need a Thundercats (Ho!) belt buckle? Or a Pac Man belt? You can get all that and MORE at Nerdy Shirts!

I was torn between the Wolverine Evolution, MacGyver, and Mario Frog Suit tees . . . until I saw the description for the MacGyver tee: “When’s the last time you saw Che Guevara defuse a bomb, reprogram a robot and save the world using only a popsicle stick, a rubber band and a piece of gum?”
So yeah, that one’s my favorite.

Oh man, so many awesome shirts to choose from! I think my favorite would have to be the “Reading Is for Awesome People” tee — I’ve resolved that I’ve gotta own that, whether I’m lucky enough to win the contest or not!
