I had the chance to speak to Di, the creative force behind The Tempting Tart Here’s what she had to say:

How did you get started? I have what you may call an addictive personality, only for me it’s not drugs or alcohol. I started 10 years ago with soy candles, just because I had previously been a die hard Yankee Candle fanatic, and suddenly I realized their candles weren’t all that and a bag of chips. I began making my own, and haven’t looked back since. Eventually, that led me to dabble in beads, then I moved to paper products, both of which you know, have so many different styles, shapes patterns, colors, textures…I have to have them all. I’ll never use all the paper or beads I have in this lifetime, but I still buy more! I played with soaps for a while, but by then I had too much going on, so I gave up on the soaps to be true to myself and do what I love the most. Just recently I separated my tarts and candles because I thought I had come up with a really great name for a shop, and well, I just wanted to!
What’s your inspiration? It could be anything, a movie, a day outdoors, my family, but honestly it’s mostly food. A delicious dessert on the food network will do it every time. Walking by a bakery, eating something at a restaurant that I simply MUST have. (You must know I can’t really cook or bake…I only succeed at wax!)

What’s your favorite medium? I love wax, there’s just so many scents. For jewelry, I am a die hard fanatic of sterling silver and glass beads.

Do you do custom items? Absolutely!!!

Di’s tarts are made of 100% soy wax in a wide variety of deliciously tempting scents and shapes. They’re perfect alternative to candles for scenting your home! As I perused her shop, I found so many delicious-smelling scents like: Irish Creme, Aloe & Tea Tree, Caramel Covered Apple, Lemon P0undcake, Red Velvet Cake and more!
