How could we do an Anti-Vday giveaway series without featuring the fab work of Rachael of Roscata? I just love her unique designs and want to gobble up her foodie creations! Here’s what Rachael had to say about her work:

How did you get started? About two years ago, I found Etsy and after browsing around one night, I found this shop that had little teeny tiny donut charms for sale, but I thought, “Gee, I can make that and I could add little sprinkles, make the icing different colors and, oh, cupcakes would be cute and I wonder if I could make a little burger.” That’s pretty much how it started–from a lowly little pink donut charm with red sprinkles.

What’s your inspiration? I’m a huge foodie, actually, that’s an understatement. I think about what I want for dinner while I’m eating breakfast. I think that people are defined by their tastes and preferences for food, how they eat food, what they grew up eating and so forth. Like most people, in my family food was the center of all gatherings and both of my grandma’s would cook something individually for everyone. I kind of approach my jewelry that way. Most people buy my stuff because it represents a part of them–I mean, cupcakes are cute and all, but a pickle necklace, that makes a statement. Really, it’s when I’m out to dinner, at the grocery store, anywhere there’s food, I look and try to imagine it tiny and if it would be fun to make. Then I go home, get out the polymer clay and go to town!

What’s your favorite medium? I love my poly clay!

Do you do custom items? Absolutely! Actually, some of my custom items have been some of my favorite creations. A few of my favorites were a flying toaster from the old computer screensaver, a slice of lasagna, a Welsh cornish pastry. Without the request, I would have never thought to make any of these and are always a ton of fun to create! Actually, all my custom creations can be seen on my Flickr page.

I love this dainty little Calla Lily charm ($12)! It reminds me of my friend’s wedding. We bridesmaids carried these down the aisle.

Ms. Modern has to take pills daily, which isn’t fun, but, I bet I’d have a whole lot more fun taking them if they came in this Ice Cream Parfait Pill Box ($24)!
