I had the chance to “meet” the talented Jen online, the artistic-brain behind Plastique on etsy! She takes plastic and turns it into works of pure art, people! Here’s what she had to say when I bugged her with a few questions:

How did you get started? i started off by designing jewelry for myself. i thought that maybe people would be interested in my work so i threw some of the design up on etsy. it was a slow start but as it started to pick up i started making more designs and now it’s a full fledged “side business.”

What’s your inspiration? i get inspired from my passions — music, design and travel — and the people around me. i also read a lot of blogs every day which inspire me as well.

What’s your favorite medium? i love to work with plastic but i have started working with silver recently and it’s quite challenging but very fun.

Do you do custom items? i used to do custom one off pieces but it got to be too time consuming so now i only do custom orders if they are a larger bulk order.

Jen = my new best friend. She let me review my ab fab fave item from her store, the World Landmarks Acrylic Ring Set ($22)! It features Big Ben, Eiffel Tower, Leaning Tower of Pisa & the Space Needle.
First, I received the rings attractively packaged, like so:

Each ring is separate and extremely detailed. There are no sharp edges, yet each ring has been delicated cut to represent the famous world landmarks! I work this set out karaoking over the weekend and received MANY compliments. I loved being able to send people in Plastique’s direction!

To say I’m giddy over Jen’s jewelry is an understatement. Check out this unique Inverted Diamond Ring for only $13! She has tons of colors on sale in her shop right now!
