Ms. Modern is always glad to have male etsy artists featured on here! Mark is the talented owner of InkedWell Designs! He has some fabulous tee designs that I knew our readers would love! I had the chance to ask Mark some questions about his tees. Here’s what he had to say:

I began designing artwork for t-shirts about 15 years ago. I did it for fun because I enjoyed computer vector artwork and designing on the computer, so at first it was just a hobby. My first design was for the tennis team that my wife played on called “The Scream Team”. I drew a tennis ball screaming for its life after getting smacked by the racquet, it really turned out pretty cool. I did their next several team shirts and then over the years I would do designs for people just for fun. The last several years I have decided to make a career change and after starting out in the laboratory of a rubber company, then moving into sales, I made the decision to go full time into graphic design and layout. I started my own design company, the Camal Group, named using the initials of my two children, and now do logo design and layout and production of marketing pieces for small businesses. As part of that I am still designing artwork for t-shirts. My wife is also on Etsy under the names Pink Gasoline and Beads2Butterfly and seeing the success that she has had there, I decided to throw my hat into the ring too. She also helps me with the designs for the ladies; sometimes I have too much of a masculine touch!

I love to design around things that I enjoy and understand, but just about anything can inspire me, from really cool architectural styles and buildings to the texture on a rock. Everything has design built into it so everything can be inspirational. I transfer that inspiration onto the computer mainly but I also enjoy trying other mediums too. I have been learning to weld lately and really enjoy the possibilities that are there. Learning to weld well, is definitely an art. One thing that I really enjoy is sharing the creative process with others so custom work is always fun for me. I enjoy the brainstorming, the back and forth and learning what other people like and don’t like. That is pretty much me in a nutshell.

Mark’s Valentines Day is S.A.D. – Limited Edition tee ($20) is what first caught my eye. The shirt description says: “If you are single, don’t let February 14th get you down.
