I was happy to review an item from PenFelt, an etsy shop that specializes in “Hand-Dyed and Hand-Felted: Scarves, Flowers, Rings”. The item I selected to review was one of her flower broaches. It arrived in the mail yesterday and I was so excited I had to incorporate it into my outfit that day. It went wonderfully with my vintage and thrifted wardrobe.

The truetest of whether or not I’ll really like an item is how well it survives a day at work with me. My love affair with accessories is a turbulent one. While I adore piling on the vintage necklaces and handcrafted bracelets etc – they are never on me by day’s end. If they are in the least bit bulky I often take them off so that they don’t interfere with the work I’m doing (I can be doing anything from lifting and carrying heavy tables, cleaning messes on the floor, on my hands and knees sorting out piles of jewelry for hours, carrying huge stacks of CDs, and so on). If they can easily get snagged on the magnetic key I always carry in my pocket or on the fixtures I’m working with they are out as well.

This broach passed my wear and tear work test with flying colors. Not only did it stay on all day without getting on my nerves or impeding my duties – but I also received a compliment about it from a customer within my first hour at work. Don’t worry, I sent her to PenFelt’s etsy shop ;) .

All in all, this is an item I could see myself wearing over and over again. I do wonder about how it will stand up under water?? If it were to get rained on or something. I’m terrible about ruining clothing out in the rain or playing in creeks with the kids and dogs.

I’d give it two thumbs up! As a matter of fact, I’ve got my eye on the Teal Felted Flower Pin now. I think, come pay day, I might be adding that to my collection. Thank you PenFelt for sharing your wonderful hand-made accessories with me!
