Ms. Modern is the brain-child of me, Ms. M. When I was laid off for 4 months last winter, I had a lotof time on my hands. The internet became my friend. I noticed that there were A LOT of Mommy blogs and Mommy Hubs, reviewing items for families and giving advice on childrearing. I thought that was a fab idea, but I also felt a little left out. You see, I’m a single, childless, never-married gal of nearly 32. I felt bad entering Mommy giveaways, because I felt I was doing so “illegally”. I also didn’t feel like I had a way to connect with other single women on the web as easily as the Mommies did.
To make a long story short (too late), I decided to create Ms. Modern, a place not only for single women, but a place for women to be themselves for a change. To be here, you don’t have to have your “Mommy” hat on or your “Wife” hat. You can be YOU, someone you probably don’t have a lot of time to be in your busy schedule.
To join in, you can be single, married, living with a partner, straight, lesbian, single mama, mama, grandma, aunt, cousin, daughter, sister, friend, whatever! The most important thing is that you are a modern woman!
